Message Types that Can be Sent

Our messaging solution allows you to send many different message types and messages. It also gives you the option of combining several of these methods to enable your message to be more effective in reaching your recipients.

Voice messages

Voice messages can be an efficient way to reach your audience. We recommend sending a voice message that is one-minute or under to effectively reach your audience. Voice messages can be recorded on the dashboard or in the mobile app. If you have reminder that you will use more than one time, you can also create templates and save them for future use.

  • After logging in you will arrive at the Send Message page. Or from the messages menu in the top navigation bar click Send Message.
  • From the Send Message page select the group you want to send a message to from the Select Groups dropdown menu. If you want to send to multiple groups, select them one at a time from the dropdown menu. Each group selected will appear in the yellow detail bar above the Review Recent messages section. To remove any of the groups click on the group's name and press OK to confirm.
  • Select the User Types to be notified from the dropdown menu.
  • Select Voice from the Message Type dropdown menu.

Text-to-Speech messages

Create a message that you would like one of the system's human voice engines to read to your recipients as a voice message. This message type is used frequently when administrators do not want to use their own personal voice for a voice message. Text-to-Speech messages can be created on the dashboard or in the mobile app.
  • After logging in you will arrive at the Send Message page. Or from the messages menu in the top navigation bar click Send Message.
  • From the Send Message page select the group you want to send a message to from the Select Groups dropdown menu. If you want to send to multiple groups, select them one at a time from the dropdown menu. Each group selected will appear in the yellow detail bar above the Review Recent messages section. To remove any of the groups click on the group's name and press OK to confirm.
  • Select the User Types to be notified from the dropdown menu.
  • Select Text To Speech from the Message Type dropdown menu.

Email messages

Email messages are the most versatile of all the messages our system can send. Email messages can be used for email campaigns, quarterly updates, or day-to-day notifications. You can also create templates in email format and save them for future use. We recommend creating email messages on the dashboard to have full access to the email editor.

  • After logging in you will arrive at the Send Message page. Or from the messages menu in the top navigation bar click Send Message.
  • From the Send Message page select the group you want to send a message to from the Select Groups dropdown menu. If you want to send to multiple groups, select them one at a time from the dropdown menu. Each group selected will appear in the yellow detail bar above the Review Recent messages section. To remove any of the groups click on the group's name and press OK to confirm.
  • Select the User Types to be notified from the dropdown menu.
  • Select Email from the Message Type dropdown menu.

SMS Text Message messages

Text messages are a fast and efficient way to reach and engage your audience. You can send SMS text messages of up to 612 characters. After 160 characters, messages may be split based on the phone carrier or mobile operating system (or mobile OS) of the user's device. We recommend limited SMS messages as a shorter, more concise message.

  • After logging in you will arrive at the Send Message page. Or from the messages menu in the top navigation bar click Send Message.
  • From the Send Message page select the group you want to send a message to from the Select Groups dropdown menu. If you want to send to multiple groups, select them one at a time from the dropdown menu. Each group selected will appear in the yellow detail bar above the Review Recent messages section. To remove any of the groups click on the group's name and press OK to confirm.
  • Select the User Types to be notified from the dropdown menu.
  • Select Text Message from the Message Type dropdown menu.

Alert Combinations

In addition to these message types, you will see other combinations of messages available in the Message Type dropdown menu. You have the option to send messages in a variety of combinations of text and email, as well text-to-speech.

Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System

The Interactive Voice Response (IVR) phone system equips your team with the ability to launch voice messages from anywhere in the world by using any mobile or landline phone. Simply dial the toll-free phone number, follow the prompts to record your message and send to everyone in your system or limit it to specific groups.

IVR Cards are available for download from the Help menu on the Navigation Bar and then selecting Training Videos. Scroll to the bottom of the page to the IVR Section and select the cards for your solution.
