The Emergency Quick Launch tool can be used in an emergency situation to save a few steps and quickly send an message to everyone in your account.
We strongly suggest creating emergency message templates in advance with various emergency scenario instructions that can be inserted and sent at a moment's notice.
Templates used for Emergency Quick Launch will be the text message - or SMS templates.
- After logging in you will arrive at the Send Message page. Or from the messages menu in the top navigation bar click Send Message.
- Click the Emergency Quick Launch button.
- The Select Groups and User Types dropdown menus will automatically default to All Users; the Message Type dropdown menu will default to All Methods; and the Select Alert Escalation Level dropdown menu will default to All Phone #'s for Everyone Called (Recommended for Emergencies) and Emergency. The Message Subject and Message Body will also be populated with "Emergency Alert". You can edit these fields as needed.
- Send the message by clicking the Send Message Now button.
Once you have sent out your message, you will be automatically redirected to the messages results page where you can view who has received your message. Each method will have its own report. If you need to view this information again in the future, simply click on Past messages under the Alert dropdown menu on the navigation bar.
If you have opted to receive message delivery reports, you should expect an email within 30 minutes to two hours after the message was sent. The email will provide a quick summary of the success of your message results.
